Since opening its doors in 2014, Blackbird Private Dining & Events has grown to become one of Brisbane's finest function locations. So we caught up with Wedding Coordinator, Chanelle Maracic, keen to find out more about this venue from a wedding viewpoint...

What are the unique and special features of the venue? 

I think our venue's most special feature is the view. Our function space has the most amazing 180 degree view of the river and Story Bridge and all floor to ceiling glass windows make it feel so nice and open so you can really take in and enjoy all the view has to offer.

What is the most memorable wedding that you can recall at your venue? 

It's hard to pick, but the wedding of Rose and James was amazing! They went the extra mile with their styling and the room was full of beautiful candle light and gold accents which complemented the space so well. They also had a tradition of having a drink on the dance floor with friends and family, and there is the greatest picture of one of the grandmothers on the dance floor with the groom enjoying in the fun with them which is such a great moment. You could really tell everyone was just having such a great time and you could feel the love in the room.

What do your wedding services include?

We include all the food and beverage, furniture, a bridal suite for during the wedding and most importantly a dedicated wedding coordinator to help in the lead up to your wedding day. Also all the finer details such as table numbers, menus, cake knife, lectern & microphone, tealight candles. We have some very special complementary inclusions for all of our couples as well which include a menu trial for two, a bottle of Moet and cheese platter to enjoy on the day and a nights accommodation with breakfast for two at our sister restaurant Donna Chang.

Why should couples choose your venue for their wedding? 

We have really great packages, which are designed to include all the essentials you need for an amazing wedding!   The packages can also be customised to exactly what you are after. Our function centre also holds the same standards as our chefs hat Blackbird Restaurant, so if you love the restaurant you will love having your event with us.

Any tips or parting words for for couples-to-be? 

Enjoy the process, don't sweat the small stuff and trust in your industry professionals!  The day will go super quickly so make sure you take a moment to take it all in on the day.
