The wedding lounge

Categories: Styling

Like Kimberly and Daniel, many of today's couples want their wedding to be a relaxed, social and welcoming party. And with the addition of a few pieces of furniture, designing a wedding lounge at your reception or ceremony is a great way to create this atmosphere.

As guests sip on cocktails, they'll want somewhere to relax and mingle with other guests. What better way to have your loved ones enjoy each others company than by giving them a space to be entertained in a comfortable, homey setting.

It can also be a great way to drive home your wedding theme, in this case, country vintage, and break up large spaces. We particularly love them for expansive venues, including outdoor lawns, marquee weddings, beach weddings, and ballrooms.

Staging is key – There are many ways to arrange the furniture for your lounge and it really depends on the number of pieces you have. Make sure it is easily accessible from all angles and faces the crowd.

Provide seating for 5 (or more) – Make sure your lounge area can accommodate at least 5 people so that it keeps a warm, social and inviting space.

Get eclectic – Keep your furniture pieces simple, but eclectic. As the team from Vintage Secrets did, pairing the opulent, antique style lounges with a rustic, industrial table to create that blend of vintage and country.

This stunning vintage wedding was located in Eerwah Vale, Sunshine Coast Hinterland. The weather couldn't have been more perfect for the bride and groom to share and celebrate their love with family and friends. The ceremony and reception was located on the one estate and guests were amazed at how beautiful the surrounds were. Our vintage items created a simple yet warm feel for the ceremony with Mt Eerwah in the backdrop. The reception was a fun filled evening with a grand red vintage lounge, cocktail seating, drinks caravan and live band. We were honoured and loved being a part of this country vintage wedding. - Lisa, Vintage Secrets
