Real "When Freddie Met Lilly" bride Megan shares the details of her special day, and how she found the dress of her dreams.

So please tell us - with months (or even years!) of planning, did the big day run smoothly!?
Mostly yes, the weather played a bit of havoc on us so we had to relocate the ceremony. But apart from that everything went how we hoped it would.

Was your wedding themed? Did you and your husband opt for a traditional feel or more contemporary style?
We didn’t have a specific theme in mind when we started planning things but I think we just sort of found a theme as we went along. Everything seemed to go together really well and in the end it was quite a modern wedding with little traditional touches here and there. It was a wedding at the beach without being a beach wedding, we still wanted to keep it quite formal and classy and I think it all worked out perfectly.

How did The Dress fit into your theme? Did you have an idea of which style you wanted before beginning the search for your Bridal Gown? And did this change much after you saw the girls at WFML?
I had no idea what I was looking for when I started. I booked a few appointments to start with and my visit to When Freddie Met Lilly was actually the first one I had. I tried on quite a few dresses, ones that I thought I would like and that would suit me, but ended up not really liking them. Vanessa was very helpful with suggesting different styles and showing me other dresses that she thought might work. My expectation of what I would end up with was totally different to the dress I got, but I was so happy with it!

Did your man choose his suit? Or with some guidance did you help him? Did his suit compliment your gown?
Daniel had an idea of what he wanted before we talked about his suit at all. We went and had a look at a few things together but ultimately he made the decision on his own, and his final choice was going to be a surprise from me. I think without realising we both chose outfits that complimented each other!

How many dresses did you try on before you knew it was the one? 5? 10? 15+?
Probably around 10 dresses. Then we narrowed it down to 2 dresses that were very similar and then finally chose one, with some design changes to suit what I wanted.

How did your gown make you feel on your very special day?
It made me feel like it was something I was always supposed to wear. It was so comfortable and suited me so well that I think it made me more confident in myself and made me less nervous. I felt amazing!

Were the girls from When Freddie met Lilly helpful in what can be quite a busy and time consuming process when finding the dress?
Extremely helpful. I never felt like anything was too much trouble or rushed because I was taking too long to decide. I always looked forward to my appointments and was a bit sad after picking my dress up knowing I wouldn’t be visiting on a regular basis anymore.

Any tips for our future brides choosing a gown that makes the day complete?
Don’t put too much pressure on yourself with what you think you like in a dress. Be open to trying on all different styles and seeing what suits your body best!
