The first TCS outlet was opened in Rozelle, an inner city suburb in Sydney in the state of NSW, Australia in 1990. The concept emerged based on the work of Robert Konopacki, who has had extensive experience in the food bakery retail area for over 20 years and his brother, Warwick Konopacki who joined the organisation as it embarked on its Franchising development.

The Cheesecake Shop Pty Ltd was incorporated in 1993 and become licensed to allow ‘others’ to use its name and systems. There are currently over two hundred stores operating throughout the world. Our first International store opened in New Zealand in 1995, this was soon followed by USA, Malaysia, Poland & UK. Today TCS operates successfully in several countries with many more to come!

In 1993 our first Franchisee Support Office was set up in Greenacre and was later moved to Rydlemere, Sydney Australia. The role of each support office is dedicated to satisfying and better understanding the needs of customers, franchisees and their staff.
In 1997 the Australian Training and Development Centre opened in Villawood, New South Wales. This centre is designed to compliment the Support Office by providing continious Improvement programs for staff, systems, products, ingredients and facilities.
