Little did Melissa know, a girls night out would have led to a lifetime of happiness. “Brendan I met at a set of traffic lights on the northside of town as we were both heading towards the city. Brendan was driving his car and I was a passenger in my friend’s car. I recall Brendan actioning with his hands to wind down my window so I did - we had a brief chat of what we were doing and where we were headed before the light turned green. As fate would have it, we met up later that evening at Friday’s Nightclub”.

In a coincidence described only by Serendipity, Melissa ended up running into Brendan again later that week at the Indooroopilly Shopping Centre. This time fate couldn't be ignored. After years of getting to know each other and to commit a true tear-jearker, Brendan took Melissa back to the same set of traffic lights to official ask for her hand in marriage and her life to share.

Whilst searching for the perfect venues for their pre-wedding celebrations, Lakeside Gardens in Mt Cootha took Melissa's eye for the engagement party. “We wanted something different so we chose a brunch in their ‘Camilla Room’, which overlooked the beautiful gardens through the glass walls.” The hen's party steered away from tradition, whilst the boys stuck to a bbq, afternoon entertainment and a night on the town. “My hens night was held at a Penthouse located at Kangaroo Point where we enjoyed the likes of two cocktail machines and had a 1-2 hour dance class with an instructor who introduced us to Bollywood, Burlesque and Belly Dancing.”

Exceeding all expectations as Melissa remembers was her photographer on the day, Sheila Sissons. “, Ruth and her team are exceptional at what they do and they have a real passion for photography. Sheila was my saving grace on the day – I don’t know what we all would have done without her. She has an emergency kit that would get any bride out of any situation! They well and truly exceeded our expectations and gave us more than just magnificent photographs. They are patient and most importantly, they gave our guests a chance to take photos as well – an opportunity that was very much appreciated by each and every guest.”

To add icing to the cake, Sheila, on the way to their photo location organised for two limousines to be at the same set of traffic lights where they first met. “Brendan and I were in separate limousines so we could lean out of each car and kiss, to mark the spot of ‘where we first met’.
