Yolanda and Sam met at a rugby game at Suncorp Stadium. Five and half years, two children and a big move to the Sunshine Coast later, they were married in a sunny beach ceremony at Marcoola Beach. When daughter Meilah turned one, Sam decided the time was right to propose. After choosing the ring together, Sam showed off his romantic side and got down on one knee to ask Yolanda to marry him. Although the unexpected arrival of their son Hunter-Knox put the wedding plans on hold a year or two.

Yolanda wore a gorgeous, one-shouldered gown by Elizabeth De Varga, while all the boys were fitted out at Roger David. The couple were married in a moving ceremony conducted by Stephanie Neal, in front of Surfair on Marcoola Beach, where the reception followed.

The beach provided a beautiful backdrop for Yolanda and Sam's wedding photos and Yolanda offered some advice for future brides to be in that regard, "don't skimp on the photographer! When it is all over that's all you'll have". A point well taken as you look through her photos, taken by photographer Nikki Blades.

The wedding guests had only a short walk up the beach to get them to the reception at Surfair. Yolanda enlisted the help of Splash Events to carry out her Black, Silver and Ivory (with a bit of bling) theme at the reception, which they did beautifully with candles, mirrors and votives spread throughout the room.

Yolanda and Sam's first dance was to Jack Johnson's 'Better Together', a fitting title for this real life love story.
