Like most Australians Jacqueline caught the travelling bug and decided to embark on a 2 year overseas working holiday. “At first I moved around a bit but then I ended up working in a pub in Epsom, Surrey. Jay was a regular in the pub and lived in the house across the road. So in good old English Tradition, we met in a pub…”

Three days before the big event, the couple invited over 25 friends and family from England to enjoy the festivities of a 3 wedding. Each night was enjoyed by all with BBQ's, dinners and of course a late night out in the city. The non-stop celebrations continued into the weekend with the guests invited to spend some time in Caloundra where the reception was to be held. “Looking for the venue was hard at first but then once we found the Power Boat Club we both new and it was the most perfect venue.” The wedding was themed around butterflies which symbolised the release of a previous life and the start of a new, happy life together as husband and wife. “We asked both of our mums to do a special reading at the end of our ceremony and they each released 18 Monach butterflies which was spectacular. We got married at 1.30pm with canapés and champagne form 2 – 3. Our reception started at 4pm, we made it early because everyone had travelled so far we wanted to spend as much time with everyone as we could and we did. We would not have changed a thing.”

When Jacqueline was asked to target a specific aspect of her wedding whether it be the ceremony, the dress or the guests, surprisingly, the experience of shopping for the dress was the winner! “The wedding truly became real and exciting when i made a visit to Hills in Hollywood. They made the experience... fun! I’m sure everyone knows just how important it is to have the perfect dress, well the girls from that shop could not have done more for me to make sure I had the very best dress…”

“Just like the dress, the other big thing for us was the photographer... and I think we found the best one ever!”
