 | | high school sweethearts krystle lovell + mitch fox: Sunday, 21 September 2008 | | | We've all had our high school crushes on the older guy at school. However Krystle was lucky enough to have it all. Her high school sweetheart, the dream wedding and to complete the fairytale, a little one of the way. “Mitch and I met each other in 1999. He was in year 12 and I was in year 10. It was at a mate's 18th birthday party on the 24th of April, 4 days after my birthday, Mitch got away with that one…. Then we moved in together 4 years after we met and now we are starting the next chapter in our lives. Once we got back from our honeymoon we found out we were pregnant and having a little girl in June.” Krystle never tagged Mitch as the 'romantic type' however after hearing Krystle reminisce about the proposal, there's definitely some charm there! “The way he proposed was the most romantic and perfect time in my life. It was a Saturday night, I just came home from work and Mitch said let’s go and get some dinner - little did I know he had the ring in his pocket all day. We parked at Moffat Headland and he suggested we go for a walk before dinner. We started to walk and then he got down on one knee and said the most perfect things and then asked me to marry him. He put the ring on my finger and from all the excitement I forgot to answer him so he had to ask me again. It was perfect.” The week leading up to the wedding day saw nothing but bad weather and rain. To the excitement of the soon to be husband and wife, the sky cleared and the day was ready to proceed. As Krystle walked down the aisle she didn't see anyone except Mitch. “Once I got to the alter we didn’t stop talking. We didn’t realise it at the time but it was because we hadn’t seen each other for a day and was probably a discussion to try and suppress the nerves, I guess.” A fantastic start to the planning of the dream wedding was Krystle and Mitch winning the major prize at the Your Local Wedding Guide Sunshine Coast Bridal Expo. “We were very lucky, out of all those girls there my name came out. It was a shock because I didn’t think I would ever win anything like that.” Krystle's win at the expo is a great example of how important it is to complete entry forms when you attend bridal expos. “That’s how we found the most professional photographers out there. Gary, Leigh and Taryn from Mills Photography were excellent. They were there for us from day one if we had any questions. And on your wedding day you don’t really think because of all the nerves, they were there to help us get the best pictures possible, and they did!” Most pre-wedding celebrations tend to begin the weekend before or the week leading up to the wedding. Being from the Sunshine Coast and in true 'surfie' style, Mitch's bucks party begin a month before the wedding by taking his mates down south for a four day surfing trip. “Having the initial bucks party four weeks before the day only provided Mitch an excuse to party for the next three weekends! I wasn't concerned though, this is as much his day as it mine,” remembers Krystle. The bridal party enjoyed the night before the wedding in true 'girly' style at Crowne Plaza Pelican Waters. Krystle's entourage had their nails done and enjoyed a steady flow of champagne whilst Mitch embarked on his 'final' night of partying. “I think we both ended up having only a couple of hours of sleep however woke up full of excitement and ready for the day ahead.” Photographer: Mills Photography Gown: Bella Donna Bridal Bridesmaid’s: A Touch of Romance Celebrant: Patricia Brennan Entertainment: Moove It DJ Flowers: MandArt Wedding Night: Crown Plaza Pelican Waters |
