Embarrassingly, as he walked into the classroom I fell off my chair, creating a lot of unwanted attention. My husband has always said I’m a bit of a drama-queen. Looks like I fell head over heels for him as soon as he entered my life.” We turn the clock forward 13 years and the end result is Mr & Mrs Tri Nguyen. It took Tri nearly 12 months to design and finally get the ring he wanted. The whole room was lit up full of candles. There were roses everywhere and our song was playing in the background. As I walked in he went down on one knee and proposed – it was how I always imagined it... perfect. The couple wanted a very traditional Vietnamese wedding, where there were lion dancing, fire crackers and a full tea ceremony. “I had the whole family (both sides) mums, dads, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, all the groomsmen's bridesmaids and close friends all dressed up in our traditional atire. It turned out exactly as I had imagined. The photos are amazing and the tea ceremony was very touching and special. I was a spoilt bride, my husband just said yes to everything!! So we had the tea ceremony, church wedding, the lake and garden reception plus our Vietnamese 10 course dinner at the reception. Even though the wedding day is of course the most memorable part of the whole experience, I really enjoyed the bonding that our party experienced. It was so exciting to shop around together, choosing and deciding on different aspects of the wedding. At every fitting the whole bridal party (12 of us) would ensure we made a day of it. We all went to everything together and really shared every painful moment along with the numerous fun times. I also have to mention the great bond and memories I built with my mother who was my rock throughout the whole experience. The couple enjoyed a relaxing night after the wedding at the Stamford Plaza Brisbane and finished off their wedding with a beautiful honeymoon to Sydney, Melbourne & the Whitsundays.
