Some brides aspire to have a grand wedding with a price tag to match. In this case Jodianne and Neil's wedding was a grand wedding of another kind. The couple were lucky enough to have 3 grandparents in attendance who were all over the age of 90! “We were so blessed to have 3 grandparents in attendance! I wore my Grandma's veil which she wore at her wedding in 1946. We also used my Grandma's knife to cut the cake. This knife has been used for all special family occasions since my Grandma's 21st birthday!  We asked my Grandma and my husbands Grandfather to sign the register as our witnesses. They were so happy to be involved in our ceremony.”

Having 3 grandparents at your wedding is a blessing in itself however the couple were also lucky enough have their good friends from the UK including Jodianne's best friend and Neil's sister in the wedding party as bridesmaids. “Our wedding day was beautiful and our guests made the day very special. We loved our small intimate wedding surrounded by our closest family and friends,” remembers Jodianne.

Jodianne and Neil decided they wanted to individualise their ceremony by incorporating a few special touches. We wrote our own vows which added a special touch to our ceremony. “Together with my mother-in-law we made jewellery for bonbonniere gifts for the girls. Each one was made specifically for each friend.  I loved being able to give them each something special that was made just for them.” They also modified their sand ceremony slightly by having sand from 2 locations, some from the UK (where they used to live) mixed together with sand from Noosa.

“We got married on a Monday and spent the weekend at Noosa with our friends and family. We all stayed at Sandcastles resort. It was great to spend time relaxing with everyone before our big day. I really wouldn't change anything. We had a wonderful day!”
