Carlene & Trent's wedding took place on one of Brisbane's wettest weekends in a decade. The happy bride took it all in her stride though, even managing to laugh when a wheel came off the golf cart as they drove to their different photo locations on the golf course.

Trent proposed on a holiday to Magnetic Island, the proposal was a shock to Carlene, not only because she wasn't expecting it, but because he proposed with a ring she had lost a few months earlier, “He kept it aside to use to propose with, knowing we wanted to buy the diamonds and design a ring together. I was a little stunned at first to see my lost ring turn up on a beach on our holiday and for Trent to use it while proposing!”

Carlene wore an Elizabeth De Varga gown, custom made from silk chiffon and pieces of Chantilly lace from her sister's wedding dress. The bridesmaids lilac gowns, as well as the groom's and groomsmen's suits were all from Andrea's Brides & Grooms. The bride and bridesmaids accessorised with fans and parasols for the wedding photographs, which proved helpful on such a wet day.

Carlene wanted to keep her wedding simple and elegant, so the venue choice was an important one for her, “I really wanted a venue that looked spectacular at night - hence why I chose North Lakes Resort Golf Course - the reception room has glass windows that stretch from floor to ceiling”. The colour scheme was ivory & lilac, and Carlene added little else to the venue besides fresh flowers, all arranged by Glenda Pradella.

Carlene remained positive throughout the day, despite the weather. Looking back she says, "It was a wet, soggy and cloudy day. We had fun with the rain though and made the most of it, and everyone kept telling me 'the rain is good luck!' At least the grey skies provided for beautiful wedding photography."
