My wife Jean and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary this year. We have three children and 10 grandchildren - a great advertisement for the institution of marriage! Following a service career, first in the Navy and then in the Air Force, I was appointed a Civil Celebrant in 1995. Had I known it was such an enjoyable occupation, I should have applied for appointment twenty years ago!
Since my first wedding in October 1995 at the Mary Ryan Bookshop at Paddington, I have celebrated weddings in backyards, in restaurants, in parks and gardens, in clubs, on beaches and boats - even in non-denominational chapels (no hot-air balloons yet!), and I have often subsequently had the pleasure of conducting name-giving ceremonies for the children of my marrying couples.
When you ask me to conduct your wedding, I promise you a thoroughly professional service; no corners will be cut in arranging and conducting what is, after all, one of the most important events of your lives!

You may wish to have an obligation-free meeting with me before we enter into a formal arrangement - that way, we can both be sure you will be comfortable with your choice of a celebrant. Once you have confirmed your booking with me, we will have two further meetings before your wedding date. The final draft for the wedding service will thus be the result of my involvement with you in planning your ceremony, and you can look forward to a relaxed and happy day, which you will remember with pleasure. Why not discuss your wedding plans with me on:
