bridal expo tips

Bring a friend – It always helps to have someone else’s opinion and you never know if you might find your dream wedding dress at the gown sale!
Prams - If you can, leave your pram at home. While Your Local Wedding Guide and their exhibitors love to see brides and families of all shapes and sizes at the expo, our locations don't always allow for the widest aisles, so getting through the expo can be difficult with a stroller.
The Fashion Parade – The centerpiece of the bridal expo is the fashion parade and you won’t want to miss it. You’ll receive a complimentary fashion parade catalogue to take home with you but also keep a pen handy in case you see a style or designer you really like.
Register for parade seating online - With limited space available, pre register for priority seating by filling out our booking form online which will be available in the weeks prior to the expo.
Prize Giveaways – just about every wedding supplier at the bridal expo, has a promotion or competition to enter so come prepared to fill in a number of registration forms. TIP: Print off some contact labels with your name, phone number, postal address, e-mail address and wedding date to make this process faster and more convenient.
Create an email address for wedding related info – It’s a good idea to get a new, free e-mail address from Yahoo, Gmail or Hotmail to receive follow-up information from exhibitors.
Bring a Pad and Pen – Bring a small notebook and pen. You never know what appointments you’ll make and what tips or ideas you’ll want to write down. There’s so much to see that by the time you get home, you may forget!
Bring a Big Bag – You will receive a show bag upon entry but sometimes there’s so much information at each booth you can easily fill it up.
Grab all the information you can! Take it home and go through it all later
Meet wedding professionals and ask questions – Most of the exhibitors are very friendly and will talk to you about their products and services in as much detail as you want. If you find the expo is a little noisy or hectic, set up an appointment and meet them at a later date.
Don’t Get Overwhelmed – When couples visit these bridal expos they can sometimes feel overwhelmed. There’s so much to see and so many stalls to visit. Many can feel overwhelmed by all the choices and decisions that need to be made. But remember wedding planning is usually done over the course of a year…not in one day! The expo is all about gathering information and making one decision at a time!
