Don Harris - Celebrant
ABOUT ME

YOUR WEDDING DAY - without any doubt one of the most important days of your life.

Months of planning everything down to the last detail all come together for a few hours of ceremony and celebration.

Mixed with the 'how many photos' - 'what colour flowers' - 'can't possibly put Aunt Flo at the same table as .....' - and all the other myriad decisions which have to be made is the almost forgotten question - 'what form will the ceremony take?'

Couples' opinions and attitudes are about as varied as the range of possibilities available. There are certain legalities in the ceremony which must be adhered to, but outside of those legalities, the scope is as wide as YOU want it to be.

Some Celebrants give you three or four pieces of paper, and tell you to "pick one".

I consider that you should have the opportunity for more input than that, so sample "traditional" and "non-traditional" ceremonies are offered, with the legalities marked, and the opportunity to "go home and play with it".

Use your little red pencil to create the sections of the ceremony which will have meaning to YOU - a ceremony which is both legal, and very personally YOURS.

I firmly believe that this is YOUR wedding, not mine. Do the things you want to do to make it truly yours.

Your vows are the most important part of the whole ceremony. They are the things which you want to say to each other on your wedding day. In front of everyone. VERY important.

I am here to help, to guide, and ultimately to conduct your ceremony, but you must feel that you can project yourselves into the wording.

Don't you deserve to have a major say in the few minutes which are the very public part of your months of preparation?

I think so!
