oakey

Located on the Darling Downs, Oakey offers its visitors rural space and a relaxed atmosphere. Situated half an hour north of Toowoomba, Oakey, like much of the Darling Downs, was originally an agricultural settlement.

The town offers several hotels and motels as well as a local RSL and grand turn of the century pubs. The town's historical feel shines through its grand life size bronze statue of Bernborough, prize winning horse of the 1940's. Oakey is a friendly rural community surrounded by golden fields of grain and paddocks filled with grazing farm animals. The town offers warm country hospitality in a relaxed atmosphere. Just a short drive from Oakey is Brookvale Park, 40 hectares of animal and flora reserve, regional wineries and restaurants featuring fresh local produce and the finest beef. When deciding on your wedding date remember the climate varies with hot dry conditions in summer and cool conditions in winter.
