the next step

Non-invasive surgery is the perfect option for those little things that really won’t go away no matter how well you look after your skin. These days there are many non-invasive procedures with little or no recovery time yet yield fantastic results.

Another good thing is that some have applicable Medicare and private health rebates, so check with your doctor.

But with so many available, it is impossible to know which one is the best or right for you so at a glance…

Microdermabrasion:
is the simplest and safest of all procedures. It stimulates circulation and collagen production and removes surface dead skin cells. It should be done a minimum of one week prior to your wedding day. Ideally, a course of microdermabrasions starting three months beforehand will produce the best results. The procedure can be done weekly, fortnightly or monthly depending on the condition that needs to be treated. In combination with a good skin care regine, microdermabrasion can help smooth rough skin or scarring plus reduce both pigmentation and pore size. It is also used as an acne treatment to accelerate healing. The outcome is a healthy glow that may initially appear slightly red but usually calms down within a few hours.

Laser photorejuvenation: uses the latest technology in light therapy for skin. Excellent as a treatment for broken capillaries, freckles, pigmentation, acne and as a collagen stimulation. Ideally laser photorejuvenation should commence at least three to six months prior to your wedding day, as you may need more than one treatment to reach optimal results.  The advantage with this procedure is that virtually any part of the body can be treated including the face, chest, back or hands.

Injectables: are used to improve the appearance of acne scars, expression lines, contour folds and as a lip enhancement. Ideally, treatment should commence at least one month prior to the event. There are a number of alternative injectables available, which can either give volume to the skin or relax the muscles.  The treatments are long lasting but not permanent. These details can be discussed with your doctor.

Collagen induction therapy: is a perfect treatment for acne scarring, pigmentation, fine lines and to improve texture and clarity of the skin. It stimulates the skin’s own renewal process with minimal risks and downtime. Best if therapy commences three to six months prior to your wedding to reach optimal results.

Radiosurgery: is the cosmetic removal of raised moles. Basically, moles are shaved to flush with the rest of the skin.  It yields the best cosmetic results with no stitches! Ideally, radiosurgery should be done at least six months prior to the event. Please note that this is only for non-cancerous raised spots.

Photodynamic therapy: is the non-surgical removal of certain sun spots and superficial skin cancers that should be done at least six months prior to the wedding. More concerning lesions may need to be excised.
