| From the day they met, Damian and Melissa could not be apart. So much so that after two months of dating they moved in together. Melissa fondly recalls the day Damian proposed to her. “We were on the beach on a romantic holiday at Hamilton Island in 2006. I had already picked my ring beforehand. I was so excited when Damian proposed to me – I couldn’t stop looking at that beautiful ring he had put on my finger,” said Melissa.
I spent a while planning and preparing for our special day. We wanted it to be a special and romantic day, so we decided on the 16th June 2007 as the perfect day where our lives would be joined as one. We found a cute, romantic chapel by the water, on the Gold Coast and decided that’s where we would marry.
After a perfect, romantic ceremony at St Margaret’s Chapel, we held our reception at the Paradise Resort at Surfers Paradise. Local wedding coordinators helped create the perfect setting with pink feather boas around the candelabra bases, surrounded by silver glitter and pink tea lights. Our pink theme continued right through from our bomboniere to our grand three-tier wedding cake, which was adorned with exquisite beading and supported by silver cherubs.
I felt the day was even better than I had imagined, everything was just beautiful and to perfection. One of the most touching moments for me was exchanging our vows and rings. After the wedding we spent the evening at the resort, then flew to Indonesia for our romantic honeymoon getaway of eight nights in Bali.
