Brandt proposed to Sally on her birthday in November last year. The day before her birthday he had told her he had to work the next day and wouldn't be able to see her until later on that night. “I was annoyed but understanding and in the morning he woke me up at 5am. When he told me to get dressed because we were going for a walk, I was shocked and surprised but did as I was directed. He took me to our favourite spot that overlooks the ocean. I was born at 6am so he waited until six then got down on one knee and said "20 years ago you began your life, now I’m asking you to spend the rest of your life with me". I laughed which is my usual response to cheesy romantic things but, of course, accepted his proposal,” said Sally.
Three months later, Sally and Brandt were married attended by a large bridal party of 14 - five bridesmaids, five groomsmen, two flowergirls and two pageboys. “We all enjoyed drinks and finger food in a private room together before we were presented to our guests at the reception. The band we hired, Simply Saraii, was awesome and made the night all the more memorable. For our first dance we danced to 'Slow Jams' by Usher and Monica while a slide show of our childhood and our favourite times together played next to us,” said Sally.
Prior to the wedding, Sally had been looking around in every bridal store for months but couldn't find the perfect wedding gown. Sally explains, “I searched on websites and found www.weddinggowndress.com. They had a dress I liked, I gave them my measurements, paid for it and the dress was delivered six weeks later. I absolutely loved it! It was exactly how I pictured my wedding dress would look and didn’t cost the earth. The wedding coordinator really took care of everything on the day. The whole day was magical from start to finish and I think I must have been laughing and smiling the entire time,” she finishes.
