Here in Australia, we know better than anyone the dangers of sunbaking and sun beds. In some states it is now illegal to use or promote the use of UV tanning. So unless you are blessed with an effortless olive complexion, you may be considering some other options to get that healthy glow on your wedding day.
The most important tip, trick, piece of advice and commandment is this; know your product! As demonstrated by Anne Hathaway in Bride Wars, the last thing you want on your wedding day is to look like a tangerine.
If you are getting a spray tan, get a few in the lead up to the wedding. Try different salons and different products until you are completely satisfied with the colour, both when you look at it and when you are photographed. Spray tans can range in cost from $20-60, depending on the salon, so be prepared for a little trial and error.
If you are using an at home product, the same applies, trial runs are essential! We have listed some preferred (and tested) products below.
Le Tan Foaming Mousse $10-15
The whole Le Tan range is quite good, but the mousse works best. Don't be fooled by the cream with the sponge applicator, it is streak city. The Le Tan range also includes a fake tan remover for any disasters.
Model Co. Airbrush in a Can $20-30
The spray includes a green pigment to ward off any unsightly orange-ness.
Tanning moisturisers that provide a healthy glow over time are an excellent option for a more subtle tan;
Cocoa Butter Bronzing Moisturiser $10-15
This works great and smells amazing, it is also good for prolonging your tan (pack it for the honeymoon)
Garnier Body Summer $10-15
Comes in two shades
Le Tan Daily Glow $10-15
Takes about 5 days to develop, and you can get a special face formula too.
Follow our advice, get the right product, and your skin will look beautifully bronzed without a lick of sun damage.
